Torrisdale Tunnel

Torrisdale Tunnel (click for facebook page)

Started in May 2005 as a small scale croft diversification.

Open throughout the SKERRAY growing season - around May to October.

We try to use only local natural fertilisers - seaweed, comfrey and manure.

We operate a self-service system with an honesty box - open day and night!

Visitors are welcome for a look or a chat (even had one visitor do some weeding - fantastic!) and if you have enjoyed the walk and need a rest - there are seats in the mini orchard.

We are easy to find - follow the signs up into Torrisdale, carry on to the bridge at Millburn - the tunnel is on the left with a sign on gate.

We initially  started growing and selling bedding plants then expanded into shrubs, perennials, herbs, native trees etc.

Now we are growing fruit & veg for ourselves - but selling the surplus tomatoes, cucumbers, salad leaves, chillies, beetroot, spring onions, courgettes, potatoes, root veg, black/red currants, rasps, strawberries, gooseberries and even peaches!

Later  we hope to have apples, pears, plums etc.

We try to recycle as much as we possibly can and always appreciate any old plant pots, trays, jam jars etc you can bring along.

As with all small local business'  starting off is a major hurdle but once established
can progress to be a community focal point..
